Our mission is to re wild and offer long and short term care to corvids and all British wild birds
We specialize in Corvids that have been imprinted or mistreated, birds that are psychologically damaged.
We also offer long term care for elderly birds looking for a quiet safe space to live out their days in a natural environment with their own kind if they can’t be released.
We want to share our experiences with corvids.
To have the upmost respect and patience with every bird large and small that we have the privilege to rescue.
Corvid Dawn is quite space set in a remote part of Berkshire countryside that offers caring and experienced volunteers that share a passion for all birds.
My goal is to extinguish the discrimination of species like magpies and pigeons, try to work alongside the people that have different views and misinformed opinions.
Aimee has rescued birds and other animals since she was a child, inspired by her grandmother and growing up in the countryside.
Her love affair with crows began with 'Wonder' Aimee's first blind carrion crow, at the time she was managing a wild bird rescue center, this carried on for 4 years before she decided to branch out on her own.
Corvid Dawn is a new beginning and hopefully a new way for people to understand these beautiful birds.
We are extremely conscious of having a limit of how many birds we can take in, as we refuse to overcrowd our aviaries to give the best possible care to the ones we already have committed to.
However if we can't take in a bird we can possibly recommend someone who can help as we have a large network of bird lovers all over the uk. All birds at Corvid Dawn will receive the time and attention they need, clean bedding, good quality food and most importantly every effort will be made for them to return to the wild. Aimee has the full support of Falklands Veterinary Clinic in Newbury where all the vets are wildlife friendly, so any bird will have a thorough examination by a caring experienced vet when needed.
We believe in doing all that we can for any wild bird, providing there is a good quality of life.
If you are interested in getting involved with releasing or volunteering please message Aimee on WhatsApp on 07533070155
Animal Assisted Therapy organically evolved with Corvid Dawn when Aimee started to get feedback from families about the atmosphere at the sanctuary and how therapeutic it was, people just wanted to come and visit and be close to wildlife that they wouldn't normally expect to be so fascinated with like Ratchet our resident rook or Pie Pie our resident magpie, along with our rescue farm animals. Now we visit schools, nursing homes, hospices, Sen schools and also do private therapy sessions. The difference with Corvid Dawn is all our animals have overcome something and all are rescued, we truly believe they can help heal passed trauma with people and children, after observation we also know that corvids can read people and see neuro divergent brain patterns and their behavior is astounding to witness.
